A by-product of steam distilled flowers from England. This naturally self seeding herb takes large quantities of distilled flowers to produce a small amount of oil, making it fairly expensive. This traditional medicinal plant was used by the Romans and Greeks for its calming and anti-inflammatory properties. The flowers are also traditionally used in infusions (teas) for intestinal problems and its calming effect on the mind. APPLICATIONS: In skin care it is good for dermatitis, burns and eczema. Additionally it has antibacterial, anti-spasmodic properties. It is useful for treating diaper rash, neuralgia, headache and irritability.
