Making a Jumbo Lip Pencil
First of all take note of how I have the counters covered in my pictures. Pigments are messy and they will stain your hands and counters so always make sure you have your working area covered. Additionally I put newspaper on the floor where I am working as pigment dust can settle on the floor also.
Instructions:
1. Measure out the amount of base that you need to make the number of pencils you would like. Each pencil holds approximately 3-5 grams of colored base.
 2. Melt you base either on the stove or in the microwave and mix in your pigment.
 3. Mix well so you have no lumps and the pigment is distributed evenly.

4. For this pencil I used red oxide and then added some gold mica for a glitter effect.
 5. Cap the bottom of your pencil. I save egg cartons and use them to hold my pencils while I am working.

6. Draw up your melted product in a 5cc bellows pipette. I cut the tip off and this makes it less likely that my lip base will harden in the tip. If you find it’s beginning to solidify simply reheat it.

7. Decant it into your pencil.
 8. Let it Set

9. Sharpen it with a regular pencil sharpener. Our pencils are very easy to sharpen and fill as compared to wooden ones.

10. Ready to use!
