How to Use Botanicals in Mineral Makeup

Traditionally extracts could not be effectively added to mineral powder. Pure botanical extracts are used at such low levels it is near impossible to properly disperse them through powder. DIY Cosmetic Colloidal Botanicals™ are bonded to Mica in a similar way that pigments are bonded to Mica.

  • Like Mica they will disperse evenly and easily through your powder.
    • They are highly active and may be used at levels as low as 0.5%.
    • The active botanicals may be used one at a time or combined together.
    • Our colloidal botanicals are cosmetically pure and need no preservation.
    • They may be added to any powder base including one that you may have purchased at a shop.
    • A little goes a long way making them cost effective.
