Eye Products

When making your own eye products only the purest ingredients that are specifically made for cosmetics should be used. This includes food grade type powders such as corn flour. When making your own mascara you should never play around with preservatives that have not been tested for the eye area for both irritation and efficacy. Don’t ever make and use a mascara where a preservative has been left out.

  • If any eye cosmetic causes irritation you should stop using it immediately. If the irritation persists, go see a doctor.
  • Avoid using any eye cosmetics if you already have an eye infection.
  • Always wash your hands before applying eye cosmetics as bacteria from your hands made be transferred to your eyes.
  • Make sure any instrument you place in your eye is clean.
  • Don’t share your cosmetics. Another person’s bacteria may be hazardous to you.
  • Keep you cosmetics containers clean and don’t reuse any containers for eye cosmetics or creams that may be used around the eye area.
  • Discard dried up mascara. Don’t try to re-moisten it with water as you may be introducing bacteria into it.
  • Don’t store your cosmetics in a hot place, store in cool place.
  • When applying or removing eye makeup be careful not to scratch your eyeball!
  • Don’t use cosmetics near the eye area that are not intended for that use. For example do not use a lip pencil as and eyeliner too.
  • Avoid any color or cosmetic additives that are not specifically approved for use in the eye area.
